Why are you paying large amounts of money on tax and fuel companies when you can halve your fuel bill?

Here is something to think about: most of the cost of Petrol or Diesel you buy for your van goes on tax.

You can't get this money back, so you are paying more than you need for your van - You might as well have dropped that money and lost it.

If your van is used for a small business, or as a camper van, then you have enough overheads without having to pay over the odds for travelling in your van.

There is one thing that will make a much larger difference in the cost effectiveness of your vans or indeed any other vehicle.

LPG conversion

LPG conversion for any vehicle, or van is an excellent way to save money on fuel because LPG as a fuel is approximately half the cost of other road fuels because of a much lower tax on LPG.  If you have a fleet of vans, then you have even more options, you can have LPG fuel using a 'back to base' refuelling tank and you can refuel your vans with LPG using your own LPG station!

With a back to base option, your fuel bills for your van can be as little as 20p per litre.

There are two painful myths about LPG conversions which need to be eliminated.

These can cause you to suffer big problems with your bank balance, and can cause serious harm to your van, and they cause a lot of problems to anyone looking at having an LPG conversion on their van.

1. That bloke down the road can fit an LPG kit on my van

Well, in theory, but LPG conversion kits are one of the biggest causes of failure in LPG systems.  Initially cheap, when they go wrong they can seriously damage your car or van.

In fact, a large amount of the work done by AFS is reversing the damage caused by badly completed LPG conversions.

At AFS, we pride ourselves on providing the best service, and using the best equipment to perform the best results.

You need your conversion done by professionals.

2. LPG conversion for cars and vans is expensive

Look at it this way.  If you are spending about £2000 per year on fuel, LPG costs about half of that.  So if you keep your van for about a year an a half after an LPG conversion, it will have paid for itself.  After that, it will be making huge savings for you.

Not only that, if you are converting a van or car for business use, it will be tax deductible by the company.

So, expensive? Not when you look at how much you can save from it.

That is not to mention the huge savings you can get from travelling in the London Congestion Charge zone.  If you drive through there, you can be charged as much as £2000 over the course of a year through normal, day-to-day use.

As AFS is a Powershift approved LPG conversion installer, a conversion fitted by AFS will probably be exempt from the London Congestion charge (depending on they type of vehicle).
